163 Galena Black Cloud Mine, Iowa Gulch, Leadville, Leadville District, Lake Co., Colorado, United States 3 ¼ x 1 ¾ inches Ben: This is a very nice Galena from a location that is not commonly seen these days. This location is better known for its golden Barites. I have not seen many good Galenas from this mine, and this is a very nice example. The Galena crystals are fairly sharp, but have an almost melted look to them. This specimen does not have the mirror luster of some Galenas, but it is a great piece from an uncommon location.
