71  Magnetite Cerro Huañaquino, Potosà Department, Bolivia cabinet 10.8 x 6.5 x 2.2 cm ebBay: Typically the MAGNETITE specimens from this locality are closely grown together, but this specimen has excellent isolation between the crystals. The piece has superb quality, razor sharp, HIGHLY lustrous, black, 'Alpine-type' octahedra scattered all over this specimen associated with minor white FELDSPAR crystals. The largest crystal measures 1.0 cm. across !!!!! This piece is one of the best 'cabinet' size specimens from the lot and will display very nicely. It is very hard to convey the quality of these crystals in the photographs, and this piece does have some VERY minor damage, but the crystals of MAGNETITE are extremely good quality and very attractive. eBay: Lastly, there has been a discrepancy regarding the correct locality information for these specimens. I have pointed out in the past that my locality information for these specimens is absolutely correct as it was confirmed by two separate sources. This IS the only locality for this material in Bolivia. ----- Photos courtesy of / ©2004 Mineral Classics label Mineral Occurances
